Thick 2D was an exercise exploring the dimension between 2D and 3D. In my exploration, I traced the pattern found on the leaf of a plant in my apartment.
I abstracted this pattern into a point datum that created a grid for a Voronoi pattern to grow.
Each cell grew exponentially in dimension creating the “Thick 2D” which I then turned into a contour model. This pattern was later used as a structural system and facade pattern in a building project.
